A new start in a new kitchen

What a difference. They call it a kitchenette as it is part of one big room encompassing the living room, dining area and kitchen. It does not have a whole lot of room but this apartment also has a huge walk in closet where I store all my big kitchen items. It is right across the hall from the kitchen. It also holds my winter clothes and odds and ends. I will put a small freezer in there shortly.
Now, back to the kitchen. It has everything a person would need including a disposal and dishwasher. The sinks are small but it is working very well for just one person. The cabinets are adequate and I have a huge slab of something that juts out from the counter top. I will post pictures as soon as I can. It catches the mail, and some decorative pieces. The canisters are there for now but I do not like them there. When I get my island up here, I am sure they will go on or in it. The island is the same color as all the wood in the apartment. I think they called it maple. I call it blonde. Anyway, it is light, bright, pretty and just what I love. The windows in this are huge. They are only on two sides but it is more than adequate.
My cookbooks are on the floor in the living room area but that is only temporary. My cookbook bookcase will be coming, too. I have no clue as to how all this will fit, but, I will make it work. There is always that huge closet. And, it is going to stay neat, too. Someone remember I said that. LOL
Can anyone tell I am happy? You should have seen me the first time I opened the oven. Good grief, a pan could get lost in there. I am sure it will hold four 9 by 13 pans. It has been so long since I could use one that big that I am not sure of the measurements.
I guess I should quit and go to sleep. Morning is approaching quickly.
