when i tasted an oreo cheesecake from a popular coffee shop, i started a search for a nice cheese cake recipe. I had 2 disasters already., the first cheese cake was so cheezy not sweet kind of cheese cake but the texture was fine and it did'nt took long to harden up with just a few hours of chilling it , so with the 2nd one i put more whipping cream to it, tastes more creamier and sweet just that it had a softer texture like more of a very very thick soup kinda texture, i left it in the chiller overnight and it was almost the same texture. Need help pls....

Check your recipe against these for ingredients.
Or try one them. There is a link on each recipe for you to ask the poster any questions you have about their recipe.

Hope this helps.

Hi Twarles,

I just have to jump in on this one with yet another recipe for cheesecake. I have made several of them over the years and they ranged from unedible to "ok" - until I tried one that was in a Cooking Light Magazine (July issue). Now, not being a good girl all the time when it comes to low-cal, I used what I had on hand and most of it was NOT low-fat (i.e. regular cottage cheese, full fat cream cheese and sour cream). But, it was amazing just the same! It was dense and smooth, sweet but not too sweet - really the most perfect cheesecake I've ever made. Here is the recipe:

http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1816320

I left out the pistachios in the crust - just made a standard graham cracker one and I substituted Peaches for the Nectarines. I also did not make the Pistachio brittle for the topping. I was very surprised to discover that you could not taste the peaches at all - it just added that 'something' you couldn't quite put your finger on. It was excellent. Also, I followed the method almost exactly - I didn't have a roasting pan my springform one would fit into so I just added boiling water to a pyrex pan on a lower shelf and it worked great. Not even one crack! A first, for sure. Very Happy

i think the reason why the 2nd one failed is that i used one cream cheese and a lot of whipping cream.

i really appreciate those links that you sent me, i have added them on the recipe box and will try them on my days off, which is two days from now, im SO excited already. Very Happy

THANK u so much!

No problem Raine - you'll find that everyone here is super helpful! I guess when you find a group of people who talk about food like most everyone else talks about the weather, you just tend to embrace them! Very Happy

By the way - I love your name. That is the name I wanted for my daughter but alas, it wasn't meant to be because my last name is Bowes. LOL Laughing That's seriously true!

Have fun Raine.

Joy, I can hear you talking to yourself when you realized that "The Bowes Boy" was the guy for you...
"OMG, he'll ask me to marry him.
His last name is Bowes.
He's so great.
His last name is Bowes.
I want to name my daughter (if I have one) Raine.
His last name is Bowes.
I can't marry a man named Bowes.
But I love him.
His last name is Bowes.
But Raine Bowes just won't do.
So... I guess we'll find another name for our daughter."

HAHAHA! Pat, that's pretty much how that conversation in my head went, actually! Laughing

Would have been the same way if his last name was Storm, Showers, Forest or Coates I suppose! Wink
