Morning All...

Jim won't be home til Saturday. Not happy about this at all.

Leo is the friendly of the two...Willow is very skittish, can't even get near her. If things don't turn around, I think I will have to take her back. I'm having a really difficult time...thinking I made a rash decision, that I wasn't quite ready for kittens/cats. I don't know...my head is in such a whirl. It's new to me to have kittens and I know it's new to them too. Hoping we can adjust.

Ann

Morning Everyone,

Ann Hope Willow settles down, I know absolutely nothing about cats. I was a little worried when you said you went out and got 2 kittens. That's a big job, when your working and Jim's not home. I hope it works out for you all. My neighbor only waited 4 days after her dog died and got 2 Lab pups, she's pulling her hair out with them.

Tango, sorry, no treats here, I'm going to meet my friends for lunch, so I will pass on breakfast.

Debbie, I wanted to let you know that the Yankee candle is "Christmas Cookie"................smells wonderful.

Carolyn, did you find your recipe?

Like I said we are having lunch today to celebrate Loretta's 70th birthday. We pitched in a bought her a silver bracelet that has the Ava Maria etched into it. I think she will like it. First I have to take my mother for her flu shot, I messed up last week on the date.

I hope all of our grands stay healthy and don't get the H1N1, I have a friend who's grandson had to be born a month early cause the mom had the swine flu............the baby has stopped breathing twice and is in Intensive Care. Yesterday the mom was rushed to the hospital cause she was hemorrhaging. Please say a prayer for them. Also the 4 year old granddaughter of a nurse at mom's doctor has been in a coma for about 3 weeks after she got the swine flu. I will see how she is when we go there today.

Karen - the kittens are actually good in here, only had Willow climbing the bookcase yesterday. Think they are really too little to try for the table or counter -- which is a big no-no in this house. It's kind of cute, if neither kitten can't find the other they'll start to chatter til they find each other. Really HATE to separate them...if it comes down to that. Jim told me if I am still unsettled Monday, we'll take them back. That breaks my heart...hate animals shelters, thinking they'll be in the cage again. Sad Crying or Very sad And who knows WHO will take them. I don't know...lots to think about.

Ann - Don't give up on the babies yet. They need a little time to adjust. I'm sure they'll bring you lots of joy in the long run. We're still working on Cocoa the CuKoo Nesting Chihuahua now and again. Apparently, chihuahuas are considered babies until they're 2 or so. Who knew?! LOL She's doing well for the most part.

OK, so I made an apple pie with a cheddar crust last night. I like the crust, but it seemed to get lost in the sweet of the pie, so I ended up kind of eating it separately. Trying to think of another application for it - maybe an apple pizza or tart where there isn't as much filling. Laura made some awesome steaks last night (not her usual London Broil) with a peppercorn sauce that Mike still can't stop talking about. He's too funny. She also made a side that was realllllly good. A friend of hers makes kale soup. We like the flavors, but not the way it's put together, and Deb uses spaghetti in it, which is kind of hard to eat in soup. Laura turned it into a kind of casserole with the kale, bowtie pasta, white beans, etc. Yummy! Gotta have her write that one up for me.

I'm off to get coffee. Hope everyone has a great day!!

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS.......I can't believe it's mid morning already. I've been up since 5:30, so where did my morning go, surely haven't done anything yet, except my morning chores, make bed, feed Andy, and take meds. oh and talk on the phone! I 've decided that when I get off here to get some Banana Bread in the oven and then take stock of my Pantry and both freezers so I can get my Menu made and a grocery list together. I should need too much since I haven't been cooking that much. Jim is feeling pretty crappy, came home last nite and just dropped, hardly ate any dinner and feel asleep when he went out with Kujo...ended up going to bed early. Said he felt just a little better this morning. Tiffany is sick again, said she's having the same symptons as she did when she had the Swine Flu several weeks ago. She's got a call in to the doctor. I told her I'd watch the kids if she needed to go to the doctor. My doctor called me in some Codine for this annoying cough of mine. When I first took it, I thought it was going to do good, but about 30 mins. before I went to bed it started all over again.....I was up and down all nite long! So much for a solid good nites rest with the C-Pak!! I'm leaning towards Potato Soup and Grilled Cheese for lunch tonite for dinner. Good ole Comfort Food that should help JIm feel better! It's looking very cloudy and cold out today, suppose to rain today and into tomorrow...then clear up and get warm by the week-end! Hopefully if JIm and Tiffany get feeling back to a 100% the yard can get cleaned up...if not, I'll have to hire my 3 17/18 yr.old nephews to do it, because the "S" is gonna start flying before we know it!!

**ANN, OH, Please don't give up on the kittens so soon!! Little Willow just needs time to adjust to people. Did they make you Smile when they were looking for each other last nite? If so, they are filling the purpose intended.

**KAREN, Thanks for your comment on the Ricola with Honey that Patti mentioned. I've got them on my store list already! Glad you're feeling better! OH, yes, I love the Christmas Cookie scent candle from Yankee....I burnt one all last Christmas season! Going thru things in your bathroom probably is a mess, what with all the lotions, shampoos and misc. Good idea about donating them to a Womans shelter. You're soooo kind! I dread the day JIm and I start to de-clutter our home...we'll have sooo many piles. Believe it or not we just did that about 10 yrs. ago when we moved from our other home to this one......took lots of truck loads of misc. junk to the dump! THey say the rule of thumb is: If you haven't used it or wore it ina year, get rid of it, like donate ot trash it! Boy that would be about 75% of my household stuff! LOL! What a wonderful thing to do for Loretta's Birthday...taking her out to lunch and going together to buy her that Special Bracelet!! Ava Maria was my Mom's Fav song....after she passed away I would play that song, look at her picture and just set and cry. I still miss her terriblely! WOW, the nasty Swine Flu is all around you isn't it? I'll will say a special prayer for those you mentioned, praying they get better soon.

**PATTI, I know you probably be on later, so I wanted to thank you for the referral about the Ricola cough drops. I told Karen I already have them written down on my grocery list!! About the Mexican food, I'm with you, Jim and I could eat it at least once a week! We really like it. JIm has an Aunt and Uncle that lives in YUma AZ and he said that true Mexican food is nothing like the American version of it. Weird huh? About the Make-up.....What's the story about that? Well with the exception that you said your eyes looked like Raccoon eyes...I had to laugh trying to in-vision that! I use to Never go out of the house with out my make-up, but here the past several years (I guess since I've NOT been feeling well) I sometimes venture out with just a little powder and lipstick. To tell the truth, my eyes are getting so bad it's hard to see to put on eye make-up. One quick story....several years ago, while at the grocery store there was an older lady standing beside me at the Deli and when she turned my way, I know I had a Shocked look on my face....her eye make-up was like from the 60's....bright and heavyly applied blue eye shadow! No blending at all!

**CHAROLYN, Sure hope you all don't get the Swine Flu from the girl that Tracey works with. They are telling "EVERYONE" here that if you have ANY symptons of the Flu to stay home......that girl should have stayed home, so she didn't spread that nasty flu! Hey did you find your Pumpkin recipe yet? I have a good idea about the dog and grandson problem....since most of the time the dog re-tallerates to your grandson BECAUSE he is pesteringthe dog...tell your grandson that he can spend the day out on the porch. Sorry, I'm an anmal lover and it upsets me to hear about a kid teasing a dog, then when it snaps at the kid the dog gets in trouble....just had to vent...sorry!

**CHRIS, I didn't get to check out "V" last nite. Had a hard time between 9 and 10 keeping up with DWTS and So You Think You Can Dance. I really wasn't surprised that Mark got sent packing. He had a really bad nite Monday due to having a different partner...but he's not a bad dancer. Michael(the football player) and AnnaI knew their days were numbered also. He just recently started doing better, I think when he started thinking about it as going out and having a good time and not being so stiff and tight. Now the one that I'm really surprised is STILL there is Kelly Ozborn....her Dad Ozzie has HAD to pay the show some BIG Bucks for her to have been on this long! So how was "Z"? I wonder if it's one of the shows that I can watch on the computer. I'll have to check that out later on today and if it is, watch it then.

Well, I have offically wrote a chapter to the book. Sorry to have been so darn chatty today! I really need to get busy! Wishing Everyone a great day....do something fun today! HUgs, Debbie

I watched V but wasn't all that impressed. Everyone else seems to have thought it was great though, so maybe it was because I was on the computer too and wasn't paying complete attention. I'll have to give it another shot. I felt bad that Aaron Carter was in the bottom 3 on DWTS last night. He did phenomenal this week! There is something about him that makes him kinda creepy to watch, but I feel bad for the poor kid. He's working his heart out on this thing and keeps getting slammed. I don't think Kelly is t-h-a-t bad. She's kinda up and down. There were a couple of dances this week that Laura and I totally disagreed with the judges on. I can't think which at the moment, but we thought they were bad and the judges raved. Oh well. LOL. Yup, had a hard time trying to switch to SYTYCD too, because I was taping Biggest Loser on yet another channel! Busy TV night. LOL

Carolyn - Glad to hear you found your recipe, but so sorry to hear about Tracey! I'd look into another doctor if I was told I had to wait that long though. Did she ask if they have a cancellation list she could get on at least? Hopefully they are catching it early! Chin up!!
