Russian Tea Cakes Cookies

Don't know where I received this recipe but it's very good and I've made it for years. Very Simply!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 1/3Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tsp water
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla
  • 2 Cups AP Flour
  • 1 Cup Nuts ( Walnuts or pecan) Chopped fine

DIRECTIONS

Mix Butter & Sugar first then mix in water and Vanilla then the flour & Nuts.


Chill 4 hours in fridge and then heat oven to 350


Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 20 minute & watch not to burn cool cookies and then roll in powdered sugar

It looks similar to my family's recipe. Could it have come from yours? I once tried a Russian cookie that wasn't anything like Russian Tea cakes. Can't seem to find a recipe, though. They sure were delicious!
